Singaporean authorities have detained GB Rai, the Chairman of Gorkha Media Group and operator of Galaxy TV, in connection with a cooperative fraud case. Rai, who had initially fled from Nepal to Malaysia, was tracked down in Singapore.
Nepal Police sources have verified Rai’s apprehension, which occurred before Rabi Lamichhane assumed the role of Home Minister. Efforts are being made to repatriate Rai to Nepal for legal proceedings.
