Mahottari: A fatal road accident on Matihani Janakpur road claimed two lives, involving an SUV and a tractor.
A tragic road accident occurred on the Matihani Janakpur road section in the Mahottari district, resulting in the loss of two lives. The incident occurred on a Sunday evening, claiming the lives of 60-year-old Akbar Rayin from Pipra Rural Municipality-5 in Mahottari and 60-year-old Rajkishore Yadav from Kshireshwarnath Municipality-1 in Dhanusha district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri, the spokesperson for the District Police Office Mahottari, confirmed the fatalities.

The collision transpired when a jeep with the Indian registration number (BR 06 PD 3330) collided with a tractor (Madhesh Pradesh 01 Ta 3009) in Pipra Rural Municipality-1 of Mahottari. Akbar, who was traveling in the tractor, lost his life in the accident. Additionally, Rajkishore met his demise when the jeep, attempting to flee the scene after hitting the tractor, struck the bicycle he was riding.
Another victim, 60-year-old Jhapsi Kawadi from Pipara Rural Municipality-5, who was also on the tractor, sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Provincial Hospital Janakpur. Meanwhile, the jeep overturned in Matihani Municipality-4 while attempting to escape, and the driver fled the scene.
