NC to allow Rabi Lamichhane to speak in Parliament

Kathmandu, Nepal- The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has resolved to grant Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane the opportunity to speak in Parliament.

During their Parliamentary Party meeting on Friday morning, the NC agreed to let Lamichhane address the upcoming budget session, which begins today.

In the previous session, the Nepali Congress had protested in Parliament, urging the establishment of a parliamentary committee to probe allegations of Lamichhane’s involvement in misusing cooperative funds.

Today marks the commencement of the annual budget session for both the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly (NA).

The session starts following President Ram Chandra Paudel’s summons for a joint session of the federal parliament on May 2, as per Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, upon the Council of Ministers’ recommendation.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has issued a public notice, calling all Members of Parliament (MPs) to convene at 2 pm on Friday at the Parliament Building, New Baneswor.
