KATHMANDU– The Nepal Student Union has staged a demonstration in front of Singha Durbar South Gate against the government.
They demanded the implementation of the people’s constitution, the treatment of citizens by the state, the provision of free education, and other such demands. After the demonstration in the Singha Durbar area, the police intervened. Six students were reportedly taken into custody by the police during the intervention.
Claiming that the government has failed to take any steps to control corruption, the demonstrators also raised slogans against Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, demanding an investigation into cooperative cases.
