Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has come forward to support Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, affirming his innocence in connection with a cooperative fraud case.
This statement from PM Dahal follows criticism from the Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, which has raised concerns about Lamichhane’s appointment as Home Minister due to alleged involvement in the fraud case.
The Nepali Congress has been causing disruptions during parliamentary sessions, demanding Lamichhane’s resignation.
In response, PM Dahal has reiterated that there are no grounds for Lamichhane to step down.
He emphasized that investigative bodies have found no evidence implicating Lamichhane in the fraud case.
“Minister rabi Lamichhane has no ties to the fraud case. Although the complaint originated in Pokhara, it does not justify Lamichhane’s resignation,” PM Dahal explained in an interview with Kantipur Television.
“I have thoroughly reviewed the investigation and found no misconduct on Lamichhane’s part. There exists a misconception among the public that needs clarification,” PM Dahal further stated.
