Kathmandu, Nepal– On Wednesday, Yamlal Kandel, the recently appointed Chief Minister of Karnali province, formally assumed his duties by taking the oath of office.
Province Chief Tilak Pariyar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chief Minister Kandel.
Having been designated as the Chief Minister on Tuesday, Kandel, who also holds the position of parliamentary leader of the UML within the province, garnered support from various political factions.
Notably, he secured the backing of 9 lawmakers from the CPN-UML, 13 from the CPN-Maoist Center, and 10 from the CPN-Unified Socialist Party.
