The Kathmandu District Police Range has deployed 3,000 security personnel across the Kathmandu Valley today, on the occasion of Holi, to ensure a peaceful celebration of the festival.
This deployment aims to enhance security measures in the Valley, promoting a safe and orderly Holi festival.
Superintendent of Police Navaraj Adhikari, spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, emphasized that strict action will be taken against individuals engaging in unlawful activities. This includes driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, creating public disturbances, and causing noise pollution during the festivities.
Adhikari stated, “We urge everyone to celebrate Holi in a dignified and respectful manner. Those found engaging in illegal activities will face consequences.”
A total of 2,500 uniformed security personnel and 500 plainclothes officers will be deployed to maintain law and order during the festival.
Police checkpoints will be active in the Kathmandu Valley starting Sunday morning to prevent any undesirable incidents.
Furthermore, individuals involved in activities such as throwing water balloons or applying colors in an inappropriate manner will also be subject to legal action.
