The Department of Tourism has granted permits to 63 mountaineers, including 13 women and 50 men, for the ascent of Mt Everest during this year’s spring season. These permits were distributed among five different expedition teams by Monday.
Chun Bahadur Tamang, the Section Officer of the Department, revealed that a total of 148 individuals, including 42 women, have received permits to climb various mountains, resulting in the collection of 105.59 million rupees in royalty thus far.
In a press release, the Department emphasized the distribution of permits, with three expedition teams each receiving permits for Mt Amadablam and Mt Annapurna, in addition to Mt Everest.
Last year, the Department reported that 478 individuals were granted permits to climb Mt Everest.
