72-Year-Old Among 10 Arrested in Kathmandu on Allegations of Brown Heroin Supply

Kathmandu, Nepal– The team of the Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested 10 people with drugs from different places.

The team of the Bureau announced the arrests from different places on Wednesday. Among them is a 72-year-old man. 72-year-old Pramanand Mehta of Rajviraj Municipality-9 of Saptari was arrested by the police from Mahalakshmi Municipality-4 of Lalitpur on 20 Chaitra.

72-year-old Mehta is the main person who deals in brown heroin with Kathmandu as the center, SP and spokesperson of the bureau Rameshwar Karki said. 36-year-old Vikas Karki of Budhanilkanth was also arrested while buying drugs from him. 72 grams of brown heroin was recovered from them.

On March 19, the team of the Bureau arrested 34-year-old Nabeen Dhital of Urlabari Municipality-3 in Morang from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 with 14 grams of brown heroin.

On Chaitra 21, Indian citizen Vikas Kumar was arrested by the Bureau with 15 grams and 500 milligrams of brown heroin. Similarly, 26-year-old Sanjay Limbu of Dharan and Bikas Mandal of Morang were arrested from Chabahil with 24 grams of 850 milligrams of brown heroin.

Spokesperson Karki said that 26-year-old Dhiraj Kumar of Bharat Sitaman, Dhiraj Kumar Shah of Michairya of Siraha, 25-year-old Suresh Tamang of Siraha and 25-year-old Chhiring Tamang of Ramechhap were arrested.

All those arrested have been investigated for drug-related offenses.
