An elderly man, identified as 71-year-old Nagendra Prasad Sharma from Darma rural municipality -1, Salyan district, has tragically succumbed to a wild animal attack in Banke.
Sharma, who was residing with relatives in Kohalpur and Dhakeri of Banke district, fell victim to the attack near the road at Bhalukhola, approximately two kilometers west of Dhakeri on the East-West highway. Manoj Kumar Shah, the senior conservation officer at Banke National Park, confirmed the incident.
According to Police Inspector Devraj Bhattarai of the Area Police Office Kohalpur, it is suspected that Sharma encountered the wild animal around 5:30 am today. His body has been transported to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for a post-mortem examination.
