BANKE- A fire broke out at the Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke, resulting in significant damage to the city scan room within the radiology department. The blaze, believed to have been triggered by an AC unit, started around 4:30 pm on Sunday.
Dr. Prakash Shah, the hospital’s Chief, confirmed the incident, noting that it took three hours to bring the fire under control. The collaborative efforts of hospital staff, residents, the Nepal Police, and the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan fire department were instrumental in containing the fire.
The city scan room suffered extensive damage, necessitating the removal of machines and technical equipment to mitigate further loss. Dr. Shah emphasized the need for a comprehensive technical assessment to determine the full extent of the damage caused by the fire.
