Matihani– Last night, a catastrophic fire erupted at a furniture factory located in Matihani-8 of the district, resulting in substantial losses.
Initial reports suggest that property valued at more than Rs 3.5 million was devoured by the inferno, which swept through Bharat Furniture, a business owned by Dukhmochan Thakur.
According to the District Police Office in Mahottari, the fire ignited at approximately 10:00 pm on Monday.
The conflagration mercilessly destroyed furniture and various raw materials housed within the establishment.
Fortunately, concerted efforts from the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, local residents, and the aid of a fire engine led to the successful containment of the blaze.
Authorities are currently engaged in evaluating the complete extent of the damage inflicted by the fire.
