IPL 2024 MI lost the match against GT by 6 runs

IPL 2024-Gujarat Titans got off to a winning start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by defeating five-time champions Mumbai Indians by 6 runs.

Hardik Pandya, who returned as the captain of Mumbai after leaving Gujarat, started with a loss in the first game. Mumbai removed Rohit Sharma from the captaincy and gave Hardik the lead.

Chasing a winning target of 169 runs for victory, Mumbai scored 162 runs losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Dewald Brevis of Mumbai scored 46 runs off 38 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Similarly, Rohit Sharma got out for 43 off 29 balls with 7 fours and 1 six, Ishan Kishan nil, Tilak Burma 25, Tim David and Hardik Pandya 11/11 runs.

Gujarat’s Azmatullah Omarzai, Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson, and Mohit Sharma took 2 wickets each.

Before that, Gujarat, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 168 runs.

Gujarat’s Sai Sudarshan scored 45, Shubman Gill scored 31, Rahul Tewatia scored 22 and David Miller got out for 12 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai spent 14 runs in just 4 overs and took 3 wickets and Gerald Kotzi took 2 wickets.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings will compete in the IPL this evening.
