A segment of the Kanti Highway linking Hetauda and Kathmandu has been closed to vehicular traffic since March 11th. This closure, enforced until April 27th, is due to necessary repairs and maintenance required at the Bhattedanda section in Lalitpur, as communicated by the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
DSP Laxmi Bhandari, the spokesperson for the District Police Office Makawanpur, stated that the Department of Roads relayed this information. Bhandari emphasized that vehicles traveling on the Kathmandu Kanti Highway are advised to utilize the Thankot-Chitlang-Hetauda route during this period.
According to the Area Police Office, Makawanpur, over 2,000 light vehicles typically traverse the Kathmandu Kanti Highway daily.
