The Karnali Bridge, which had been closed following a fire incident, has now reopened for traffic.
Following a thorough assessment of the damage caused by the fire, which originated from a truck loaded with gas lighters, the decision was made to open the bridge for traffic.
Engineer Niraj Shakya from the Road Division Office in Nepalgunj confirmed that the bridge has been reopened after an on-site assessment and consultation with experts, who determined that traveling across the bridge posed no risk.
The fire, which occurred last Monday, damaged the wire ropes holding the signature bridge, prompting its closure for traffic. An expert team from the road division office conducted an inspection before the decision to reopen the bridge was made.
