A Korean citizen who had come for a tour of the Mount Everest region has lost his life. The district police office in the Helambu Rural Municipality-4, estimated to be around 47 years old, has informed about the demise.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, it has been reported that he lost his life while returning from his Olympic Himalayan ascent and fell at Lhamu Gaunpalika-4 on Falgun 28. It has been informed by the police that the deceased, who fell nearly two meters below the road after slipping, has been brought to Lukla by helicopter for further legal proceedings and autopsy at Kathmandu Teaching Hospital.
The deceased had arrived in Khumbu for Himalayan ascent through Atex Company on Falgun 21
