Nepal, starting triumphantly in the ACC Premier Cup, gears up for its second encounter against Qatar this Saturday.

Having clinched a convincing victory over Malaysia, securing five wickets in the inaugural match on Friday, Nepal now turns its focus towards the clash with Qatar today.

Scheduled to kick off at 4:15 PM in Oman, the match against Qatar promises another exciting showdown.

With the initial win against Malaysia, Nepal secures a commendable 2 points in Group A.

In the previous match, Nepal efficiently chased down Malaysia’s target of 144 runs within 19.2 overs. Notable contributions came from Kushal Bhurtel, Aarif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Captain Rohit Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Malla, and Sandeep Jora.

This match also marked a significant milestone for Nepal’s Captain, as he joined the ranks as the third Nepali cricketer to notch up 1000 runs in T20I cricket.

Malaysia, despite a valiant effort, managed to post a total of 143 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their innings.

For Malaysia, Virandeep Singh led the charge with 68 runs, supported by Sharvin Muniandy and Muhammad Amir.

In response, Nepal’s bowling attack, led by Dipendra Singh Airee and Abinash Bohora, restricted Malaysia’s scoring opportunities.

Looking ahead, Nepal is scheduled to face Hong Kong on April 15 and Saudi Arabia on April 17 in Group A encounters. Meanwhile, Group B features Bahrain, Cambodia, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The top two teams from each group will secure spots in the semifinals, leading to the ultimate showdown on April 21.

The victor of the competition will earn the prestigious qualification for the T20 Asia Cup 2025.
