Nisikhola bus accident's death toll reaches nine

The Nisikhola bus accident has claimed the lives of nine individuals, with the identities of all the deceased now confirmed.

Among those tragically lost are Lucky Pun Magar, 18, from Dang; Binita KC, 27, hailing from Musikot municipality-1 in Rukum West; Bobydadel Nepali, the bus owner from Musikot-2; Tika KC, 35, of Musikot-4; Kalpana KC from Musikot-3; Man Singh BK, the bus driver from Rolpa; Gita Thapa from Gorkha; Sujan Maharjan from Lalitpur; and Bikram Pariyar, 25, from Sisne rural municipality-5 in Rukum West.

The tragic incident occurred when a bus with registration number Bagmati Province 01-006Kha 3879, en route from Rukum East to Kathmandu, veered off the road and plunged approximately 150 meters down a hillside in Nisikhola rural municipality-6, Jaulepani, Baglung district, along the Mid-Hill highway, on Monday evening.

Seven individuals lost their lives instantly at the scene, with two more succumbing to injuries during treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center, according to Madan KC, the information officer of the District Police Office, Baglung.

A total of 28 individuals sustained injuries in the accident. One injured person is currently receiving treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center, while the remaining 27 have been referred to Dhawalagiri Hospital in Baglung from Burtibang Primary Health Center.

The bodies of the seven individuals who died at the scene were transported to Rukum on Monday night, while the bodies of the other two victims are being held at Burtibang Primary Health Center.
