Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as ‘Prachanda,’ has instructed Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to execute the recommendations put forth by the High-Level Probe Commission tasked with investigating recent incidents of gold smuggling.
Receiving the report from the Deputy Prime Minister today, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of implementing the commission’s recommendations impartially and without succumbing to any external pressures.
The Prime Minister, through the Deputy Prime Minister’s Secretariat, further emphasized the necessity of fostering an environment that neither shields wrongdoers nor unfairly penalizes the innocent.
Additionally, the Prime Minister urged swift action on the reform measures highlighted in the Commission’s report.
In response to the Prime Minister’s directives, the Deputy Prime Minister has initiated internal discussions to chart the course for implementing the report’s findings, as confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
The Commission delivered its report to the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane on Thursday.
Established on October 1, 2023, the government formed the Commission under the leadership of former High Court Judge Dilliraj Acharya, with Kishor Jung Karki, Prem Raj Joshi, and former Additional Inspector General (AIG) Sahakul Thapa serving as its members.
