Pokhara Tourism Council Demand to start international flights from Pokhara

Pokhara Tourism Council has submitted a demand letter to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ regarding the demand for international flights from Pokhara International Airport.

The team led by the president of the council, Pomnarayan Shrestha, met the Prime Minister in Pokhara today and submitted the demand letter. The council drew attention to the fact that the condition of the main roads connecting Pokhara is dire and that international flights have not been regularized from Pokhara International Airport so far. The council has also requested quick flight operations.

In the demand letter, it is mentioned that tourism professionals have faced one crisis after another for the last few years. The council said that due to the slackness in the economy, investment is in crisis and employment has decreased.

Along with the restructuring of the tourism board, it has been demanded to ensure the representation of Pokhara in the currently vacant executive board members. It has been requested to encourage international flights from Pokhara International Airport by providing packages with facilities to Nepal Airlines and other airlines as well.

Last year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal stopped a single flight of paragliding after an accident occurred during the ninth national competition and the death of an athlete. In the demand letter, the council said that the players’ psychology is affected when the flights are stopped.
