Kathmandu, Nepal– Thakur Prasad Dangi, the esteemed chairman of the RPP Madhuvan municipality in Bardiya, has tragically passed away while undergoing treatment at Birendra Sainik Hospital in Chhauni.
He sustained injuries during an RPP protest in Kathmandu and, despite medical efforts, succumbed to his condition. Mohan Shrestha, spokesperson for the RPP, officially confirmed his demise at 4 AM this morning.
Dangi, who had been grappling with pre-existing respiratory issues, was admitted to the hospital after his health worsened due to exposure to tear gas during the protest. The demonstration, which took place on April 9th, was organized to advocate for the abolition of Nepal’s republican and secular ideologies.
In honor of Dangi’s memory, a tribute has been scheduled at the RPP central office today at noon, where colleagues, friends, and well-wishers will gather to pay their respects.
