Khotang, Nepal– Three houses have been destroyed in various places in the Khotang district In a fire incident. Basanta Rai of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-3 in Dalfu, Prem Kumar Rai of Gaunpalika-7 in Tuichumma, and Chandra Bahadur Bishwakarma of Gaunpalika-4 in Dumre Dharapani have lost their houses to the fire.
The fire started in a forest in Arre Samudayik Van, located in Bahundanda of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-1, engulfing Basanta Rai’s house on Monday. Prem Kumar Rai’s house was engulfed in fire due to an electrical short circuit, as reported by the police. Along with Rai’s house, two tolas of gold, six tolas of silver, and cash worth around 300,000 rupees were lost, amounting to a total loss of nearly 6 million rupees, as informed by the police.
In another incident on Monday, along with Bishwakarma’s house, 40,000 rupees in cash, solar panels, and batteries were lost, as stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushottam Khadka, Chief of the District Police Office, Khotang.
