Two houses were burnt down in Meringden, Taplejung district.
According to District Police Office Taplejung, there was a fire in the house of Hark Bahadur Paluwa and Subas Nalbu of Meringden Rural Municipality.
Cash, food, clothes, etc. in both houses were destroyed. Two sheds near the house were also burnt.
Some forests in the district have also caught fire. In the last seven days, seven houses have been burnt, said the office.
