Kalikot: A sorrowful event transpired this morning in Naraharinath rural municipality-8 of Kalikot district, leading to the untimely demise of two individuals due to an electric shock.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Keshav Raj Thapa and his 27-year-old nephew, Ganga Thapa, both residents of Lalu village.
Reports indicate that the tragic incident occurred while the duo was engaged in extending the electricity line from the Chakha Kaldhunga Substation. According to Pradip Bohora, the spokesperson of Naraharinath rural municipality, the accident unfolded during an attempt to relocate an electric pole, resulting in unintended contact with the overhead electric wire.
Regrettably, both Keshav Raj Thapa, a teacher at Mangalasaini Secondary School, and his nephew Ganga Thapa succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The local community is deeply shaken by this unfortunate occurrence, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
