Pokhara, Nepal– The upcoming 14th edition of the ‘Royal Enfield Poker Run Nepal’ is set to commence on the 30th of Chaitra.
Starting from the premises of the Nepal Tourism Board, the Poker Run will feature Royal Enfield motorcycles adorned with various colors, designs, and decorations, embarking on a journey covering approximately 200 kilometers to reach Pokhara.
Organized as part of the SYAKRED Summit, the Poker Run, sponsored primarily by Alpha Automobiles, the official distributor of Royal Enfield in Nepal, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara Tourism Board, and Red Bull Energy Drink, Dabur Nepal Real Juice, and Kavach Riding Gear, aims to promote tourism while ensuring safety riding and fostering camaraderie.
CEO Ravi Thapa of SYAKRED Summit, during a program organized to provide information, stated that the event, which began with 22 motorcycles, now anticipates the participation of over 400 motorcycles, with an expected 150 winners.
Meghraj Paudel, Director of Alpha Automobiles, emphasized the event’s contribution to tourism promotion and the development of safety riding and brotherhood.
Sunil Manandhar, President of Friends of Royal Enfield Nepal (FORE Nepal), invited everyone to join this special event, promising an unforgettable experience for riders. He highlighted another enjoyable aspect of the event, the poker game, explaining its association with a specific type of game played with cards, where participants can make various combinations of hands.
In the Poker Run, each participant is provided with the opportunity to draw a card at five different locations along the route. At the end of the journey in Pokhara, the participant with the highest hand wins, receiving special sponsored prizes from various companies.
Additional entertainment programs scheduled for the event include a live concert, DJ sessions, and other activities to ensure full enjoyment for participants.
This edition of the event will witness the participation of 150 riders from various countries such as Nepal, India, Australia, the United States, and Austria, among others, according to Ravi Thapa, CEO of SYAKRED Summit, who noted that the number of participants could be influenced by the elections in India.
Various types of interesting awards will be arranged for the participants, including Best Poker Hand, Best Infield Award, Supporting Woman Rider, Senior Citizen Award, Long-Distance Rider, and Hard Luck Award for motorcycles facing difficulties throughout the journey.
On the day of Baisakh 1, all participants will gather at the Annapurna Bal Griha in Pokhara for the distribution of various educational materials.
In memory of the late rider friend Vinod Acharya Kshetri, Ravi Thapa and Enzac Day Harley Davidson Poker Run Director Stuart McLennan Miller jointly initiated such an event in Nepal in 2009, with a total of 22 motorcycle riders. The event, initially known as the Enfield Rendezvous and Poker Run, has been renamed Poker Run Nepal since 2015 when it attracted 415 participants.
The popularity of this event has grown as it provides an opportunity for people of all age groups, whether women or men, friends, couples, or families, to come together and enjoy themselves.
