Kathmandu, Nepal– There was a clash with the police, resulting in 14 protesters from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party being injured, while two others were detained by the police In the demonstration.
According to Deputy Inspector General Deepak Thapa of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office, during the confrontation with the police in the demonstration, 14 members of the Rapa Rapa group were injured and two were brought under control.
Initially, the police used water cannons against the demonstrators. However, when the protesters became aggressive, the police resorted to baton charges. The demands of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party include abolishing the monarchy, establishing a republican system of governance, and secularism, and declaring Nepal a Hindu nation.
The leadership of demonstration is led by the party president Rajendra Lingden himself. Security arrangements have been tightened in the restricted area.
