A Division League 'Football' to be held in Dhankuta

Dhankuta– The district-level A Division League Football Tournament is scheduled to commence on the 19th of Baisakh (April-May) in Dhankuta.

This information was provided during a press conference organized by the Dhankuta Football Association. The competition will take place at the Danda Bazaar playground from the 19th to the 22nd of Baisakh.

Mr. Mani Chemjong, the President of the District Football Association, informed us that six teams from Dhankuta will compete in the A Division District League.

Similarly, it has been announced that the District-level B Division League Football Tournament will be held in Dhankuta’s Tundikhel from the 30th of Baisakh onwards. The organizers of the Dhankuta Football Association have stated that 10 football teams from Dhankuta will participate in the B Division League tournament, which will be held as per their arrangement. Among the 16 teams affiliated with the Dhankuta Football Association, 6 will participate in the A Division and 10 in the B Division.

The winners of the A Division League will receive a cash prize of NPR 40,000, while the runners-up will receive NPR 20,000 along with medals. Similarly, the team that finishes last in the A Division will face relegation to the B Division, where the winners will receive NPR 30,000 and the runners-up will receive NPR 15,000 along with medals.

Furthermore, the winner of the B Division will advance to the A Division. Mr. Chemjong, the President of the District Football Association, informed that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will provide a sports kit worth NPR 100,000 and a cash contribution of NPR 600,000 for organizing the tournament.
