Elvish Yadav arrested, accused of smuggling snake venom

Elvish Yadav arrested

Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT, has been apprehended in connection with the snake venom-rave party incident following an interrogation by the Noida Police. Yadav has subsequently been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

He and five others were charged under the Wildlife Act in Noida for orchestrating the procurement of snake venom for recreational use at rave gatherings last year.

The arrest stemmed from a police raid on November 3rd last year at a banquet hall in sector 51 of Noida, resulting in the apprehension of five individuals, including four snake charmers, and the confiscation of nine snakes along with venom. Apart from the rave parties, allegations surfaced that Yadav had also employed snakes for video shoots.

The online personality, known for his YouTube content featuring snakes, was implicated following an operation by the animal rights group PFA, led by BJP’s Maneka Gandhi, who covertly reached out to him for the procurement of snakes and venom. Subsequently, a joint operation involving the Noida Police and the Forest Department culminated in the arrest of Yadav and others.

While denying all allegations, Yadav has been previously interrogated by the police. Despite his denial, Maneka Gandhi has accused him of involvement in the illicit trade of snake venom and has called for his immediate arrest, asserting that he evaded capture temporarily.
