KATHMANDU- With the rapid-fire bowling performance of Kamal Singh Airee, Nepal A set Ireland Wolves a modest target of 158 runs in their first one-day practice match. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Ireland A managed to score 157 runs in 38.3 overs, losing all wickets. Kevin O’Brien of Ireland A scored the highest with 51 runs off 77 balls, including four boundaries, while Neil Rock contributed 39 runs off 32 balls with two fours and three sixes.
Opener James McCollum and Stephen Doheny were dismissed for 12 runs each, while Peter Moor scored 21 runs. None of the batsmen from Ireland A could play a significant inning against Nepal’s bowling attack. Kamal Singh Airee from Nepal took four wickets, conceding 21 runs in 6.3 overs.
Kamal claimed a hat-trick in his 3.5 overs, dismissing Liam MacCarthy caught at deep midwicket for 2 runs on the first ball, then clean bowled Matthew Humphreys on the second ball, and finally bowled Ben White on the third ball.
Returning to the team after injury in 2022, Kamal has performed exceptionally well in both T20 and one-day matches. Sompal Kami and Sahab Alam took two wickets each, while Rijan Dhakal claimed one wicket.
