Nepal Cricket Team off to Hong Kong for t20 series

The Nepal Cricket Team has embarked on its journey to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Men’s T20I series. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) organized the team’s farewell program on Thursday at Soltee Mode, Kathmandu.

In this series, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, and Hong Kong will vie for supremacy. The tournament adopts a single round-robin format, with the top two teams progressing to the final. Concurrently, the team securing the third position will engage in a separate match against Hong Kong A. Nepal is scheduled to play against Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea on March 10 and 12, respectively. The final match is slated for March 13. Prior to the series kickoff, Nepal is set to compete in the Friendship Cup against Hong Kong on March 9.

CAN has unveiled the squad for the series, with Rohit Paudel, the usual captain, leading the 14-man team. Notably, some of Nepal’s key players, including Aasif Sheikh, Anil Sah, Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Lalit Rajbanshi, are rested for the series. Meanwhile, Aakash Chand, Lokesh Bam, and Binod Bhandari make their return to the squad. Sagar Dhakal, Rashid Khan, Pratish GC, and Aarif Sheikh retain their positions.
