The Nepali Congress (NC) has called for the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
During Friday’s session of the House of Representatives (HoR), NC lawmaker Pradeep Paudel asserted that Lamichhane should step down from his role based on moral principles.
Paudel stressed that Rabi Lamichhane’s assumption of the Home Affairs Minister position amidst doubts surrounding him was inappropriate. As a member of the House of Representatives, Paudel emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical standards in public service. He insisted that Lamichhane resign to demonstrate integrity and ethical leadership.
Moreover, Paudel criticized Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s decision to appoint an individual with unresolved concerns as Home Minister. He questioned the rationale behind appointing someone involved in a cooperative fraud case to a role responsible for ensuring justice for cooperative victims.
