Hira Lal Maharjan, The Chairman of Kirtipur Municipality ward-1, has passed away. The Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, Rajkumar Nakarmi, has confirmed the demise of Ward Chairman Maharjan.
Hiralal Maharjan, who was suffering from cancer, passed away at his residence in Baghbhairabha, Kirtipur-1, on Wednesday. He had returned home from the hospital yesterday. Maharjan, aged 60, was elected as the Chairman of Ward No. 1 in the local elections of 2079 BS from the Nepali Congress. After the death of the Ward Chairman Maharjan, two wards in Kirtipur are now without a Ward Chairman.
Earlier, on the 1st of Baishakh, Shyam raja Adhikari, the Vice-Chairman of Ward No. 4 in Kirtipur Municipality-4, had also passed away due to a serious injury in a motorcycle accident that occurred on the 10th of Baishakh.
