Bimala Ghimire elected as vice Chairperson of National Assembly

Kathmandu, Nepal– Bimala Ghimire, hailing from the CPN-UML, has been successfully elected as the Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly.

She clinched victory by securing 39 votes, surpassing her opponent, Bishnu Devi Pudasaini from the Nepali Congress, who gathered only 16 votes.

Ghimire not only garnered support from CPN-Unified Socialist members but also received votes from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).

A total of 55 members of parliament participated in the voting process.

Among them, Ghimire received votes from 17 lawmakers of the CPN-Maoist Centre, 10 from the UML, 8 from the Unified Socialist, and 3 from the JSP.

Ghimire, who is also a member of the UML central committee, represents Kapilvastu District in the National Assembly.
